IT SHOULD NEVER BE ABOUT WHO WE ARE, BUT ABOUT HOW COMMITTED WE ARE…
ELISE T. COETSER
Idealist meets visionary. Uplifter. Impact maker.
“It is not so much the fact that I have more than 40 years of working experience, of which more than 20 has been in the capacity of an entrepreneur and a business leader that counts most. It is the lessons that I learnt from it, that I can now build on to establish what I believe will become the legacy everyone who becomes involved in The Game Influencers will collectively leave behind. It will also be the culmination of everything I’ve ever worked for and dreamed of: “To achieve lasting impact for business.”
One of the most significant lessons was to ignore all those voices who ever told me, that ‘this is not going to be easy,’ and nevertheless soldier on, however fast or slow, because it was necessary. Another major challenge for me personally, which I work hard on every single day to transmute into my greatest triumph, is that you don’t have to have complete confidence in your own ability to be great or do great things. You just need to do great things anyway. Yes, just do it.
Finally, I’ve learnt that it’s not about what you collect on the road to success, it is about who are willing to walk the road with you and how many you can lift up, as you rise. This is what we will remember as we reflect on our lives in our golden years, and what others will remember about us.”
MARION R. BANKS
Challenger of the status quo. Inspirer. Communication healer..
“For more than half of my 30plus-year career to date, I’ve been a freelance communication specialist turned senior strategist and business writer who then went on to become an entrepreneur. I’ve mostly worked in the background, ghost writing books, conceptualising business ideas and creating content that made my clients look like superstars, with little to no credit for myself.
What has kept me motivated all these years, was that the role I fulfil provides me with a wonderful opportunity to help business reconnect with their very soul, to identify their higher purpose and to let that spill over in the way they engage their world. Or at least for those who were open to it.
Whilst finding my way as a professional, I had to overcome an almost inhumane number of personal challenges, which naturally leads to constant deep introspection and soul searching. I believe the most significant truths that I surfaced with, is that you do not have to fit into society’s mould of extraordinary to achieve extraordinary things, you do not have to be defined by your circumstances and that it is never too late to step up and become the highest version of you that you can be.
Most importantly, I realised that every single one of those challenges led me right here, to this moment in time, where I can play a part in setting a whole new movement of Game Influencers in motion. Because if I cannot rise from victim to victor, and convert the negatives into positives to help make a difference in the greater scheme of things, all of that pain and heartache will be completely pointless.”
